A Sunday Mystery

How do I really feel about Sundays?
Mathematically, I can say that I enjoy Sundays 100% more than when I first started teaching. Three years ago, it was common to spend the entire morning, afternoon, and evening writing lesson plans for the week ahead. It was exhausting, inefficient, and unsustainable. Thankfully, I learned that teaching was not the place to obsess over every possible scenario, detail, or response. Now, I can knock out a week’s worth of lessons in 2 hours instead of 12. Hooray!
Practically, Sundays still stink. I still find most of my Sunday thinking about the week ahead, and the limitless amount of work that always needs to get done. Even though I am not glued to a planbook, Sundays still have school on the brain. Would I rather plan ahead during the work week, so that my Sundays are an actual break? That is the mystery…
