Alexis Harewood

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Alexis earned a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a minor in Psychology. While pursuing her undergraduate studies, she volunteered as a tutor/mentor with the Holyoke Boys & Girls Club and conducted research on the effectiveness of different methods of vocabulary acquisition. She became interested in education while working as a Teaching Assistant and volunteering in Holyoke. After viewing first-hand the difficulties that local students in Holyoke had with acquiring English as a second language, Alexis was inspired to to pursue a teaching career with BTR in the field of ESL.
