The Dever-McCormack K-8 School serves 1054 students in grades preK-8. More than 21% of its students receive special education services, and 37% are limited English proficient.
The Dever Elementary and McCormack Middle schools merged as a K-8 school in 2010. The school’s teachers and leaders work together to ensure that students and families are informed and engaged in the learning process. A new dual language program immerses elementary school students in Spanish and English, and inclusion teams at the middle school level serve students in special needs in a regular education setting. Community partners provide after-school tutoring and specialty electives, and an intensive instrumental music program adds to the school’s focus on academic excellence and character-building for all students.
