Excel High School

Excel High School, a small high school located in the South Boston High School Complex, serves students in grades 9 through 12; 30% are limited English proficient, and 19% receive special education services.

Excel High School is a small high school where the staff know all the students and hold them accountable to achieve at high levels. It offers a college preparatory school with a focus on technology. The curriculum includes Advanced Placement courses in each discipline, with additional specialty courses in engineering, law and order, web design, digital art, and animation. Students receive additional academic support after school and participate in a range of after-school academic programs, including the Robotics Club, Model United Nations, Mock Trial, Law & Order Club, Documentary Film Club, and reading clubs. Juniors and seniors have a opportunities to make up courses through the school’s credit recovery program.
