The McCormack Middle School serves 602 students in grades 6-8. More than 25% of its students receive special education services, and 7% are English Language Learners.

With sixteen BTR Teacher Residents, graduates, and mentors, the McCormack serves as a distinctive host site for teacher development. The school’s teachers and leaders work together to ensure that students and families are informed and engaged in the learning process, keeping parents up to date on completed and missed assignments through an electronic gradebook and offering weekly conferences to address any concerns. Partnerships with community programs allow for afterschool tutoring and specialty electives, and an intensive instrumental music program adds to the school’s focus on academic excellence and character-building for all students.
