The Engineering School serves 333 students in grades 9-12; 30% of its students receive special education services.

The Engineering School is one of Boston’s new small high schools, housed in the former Hyde Park High School. With its focus on the academic theme of engineering, TES prepares students for careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Thirteen BTR Teacher Residents, mentors and graduates work to further the school’s focus on building critical thinking skills and engaging students of all abilities; in addition, the school’s intensive partnerships with local and regional universities, museums, and technology corporations give students a grounding in real-life engineering principles. The Hyde Park Education Complex is also home to two other small high schools: Community Academy of Science & Health and Social Justice Academy.
